My name is Mady…

I’m a West Texas adventurer with a deep-rooted connection to the Big Bend region. I lead backpacking, hiking, and river tours, through Hidden Dagger Adventures, sharing the wild beauty of this landscape with others.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in wildlife management and a master’s degree in conservation, with both of my studies focused on the ecosystems and wildlife of the Big Bend region.

My connection to this place runs deep. My family history traces back to Big Bend itself—my grandmother quite literally grew up with Santa Elena Canyon as her backyard. That legacy is part of what inspires me to keep exploring, protecting, and sharing this remarkable corner of West Texas.
